VICTORIA_BRUNO_ART: BODY AND MIND

  My name is Victoria Bruno, and I have a BFA in Painting. I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and have a strong connection to the city in which I was brought up in. I present my art towards others with the notion of displaying the subjective truth of our bodies to the viewer, as my work is not created to be cut in stone. In my art, there is always the opportunity to have an opinion that is flexible towards the true intention of the artist. By working with ideas of the human condition, I offer a connection with those who choose to look at my art through the use of relatable ideals; being human. Through the process of making, I create art with the idea of being abstract with underlying symbolism of the subconscious mind to contrast reality. My life as an artist is shaped by these ideals, and I perform better as a creative thinker when faced with the difficulty of challenging the normality of our everyday world.
